KidScore is an engagement tool and metric for evaluating the child- and youth- friendliness of urban places. It measures and scores what matters to kids and youth in cities and towns with the goal of creating happier, healthier places. For inquiries, contact team@maximumcity.ca.

There are four steps to KidScore:

1. Supercharge your Senses and go for a walk

Give special attention to what you see, hear, smell, and feel on your walk, along with the route you travel. Take photos of things you like and don’t like in your area. You can describe your photos with short phrases or captions by checking out some caption ideas here or create your own captions.

3. Take a look at THE results

Visit the KidScore Dashboard to view the results of survey participants on an interactive map.

4. COMPLETE THE ACTIVITIES

Use these activities & resources (including in-class lessons) to design creative solutions that make the area you explored more child- and youth-friendly.
